As per recent reports, all liquor, toddy, and arrack outlets, clubs, pubs, and restaurants serving alcohol in the Yanam district of Andhra Pradesh will remain closed from May 11 to 13 due to the upcoming elections on May 13.

May 23: Buddha Purnima

Buddha Jayanti, also known as Buddha Purnima, is a significant Buddhist festival celebrated across various parts of South, Southeast and East Asia. The festival marks the birth of Siddhartha Gautama, who later became the Gautama Buddha and founded Buddhism. On this day, the sale of alcohol is prohibited. As per a post shared on X’s official page of ANI, it has been announced that there will be a dry day in Delhi on May 23, the day of Buddha Purnima.

May 23 to 25: Lok Sabha Elections  in Delhi

According to recent reports, the Delhi government had announced dry days for the months of April to June due to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Voting in Delhi’s Lok Sabha seats from May 23 to May 25 will result in closed liquor stores during this period.
