Wobble Displays, the in-house technology brand of Indkal Technologies, has introduced the Maximus Series 116.5-inch Google TV 5.0, which is being described as the largest consumer television available in India to date.
The product marks a notable development in the Indian electronics sector, a space where international brands have traditionally dominated. With this launch, Wobble Displays positions itself as a domestic player capable of delivering large-scale, high-end television technology.
The Maximus Series incorporates QLED + MiniLED display technology, a first in India at this size. Quantum dot color reproduction is paired with MiniLED backlighting, intended to enhance brightness, contrast, and overall picture quality. The device also operates on Google TV 5.0, powered by Android 14, providing access to a wide range of applications, content aggregation, and smart features.
In terms of audio, the television is equipped with a 240W 6.2.2-channel system, including two dedicated woofers. The setup is designed to deliver surround sound effects without external speakers.
On the performance side, the Maximus Series features a peak brightness of 2000 Nits, positioning it among the brighter televisions currently available in the market. It supports Dolby Vision Atmos for improved audio-visual output. The television also comes with a 4K 144Hz native refresh rate, a specification aimed at gamers using high-performance consoles or PCs. This feature is expected to provide smoother motion and reduced lag.
Analysts note that such a large display, combined with high-end specifications, places the product in the premium segment of the Indian market. While Wobble Displays has not announced pricing or availability timelines, the television is expected to cater to consumers seeking a home theatre-like experience.
The introduction of the Maximus Series reflects an effort by an Indian brand to compete with international manufacturers in the premium television space. If adopted widely, it could indicate a shift in consumer willingness to consider domestic options for advanced home entertainment systems.
