Zinwa Q25 Revives BlackBerry Classic With Modern Hardware And Nostalgic Charm

If you’ve ever found yourself missing the good old days of physical keyboards and LED notification lights, you’re not alone, and you’re in luck. Chinese tech company Zinwa Technologies is bringing the iconic BlackBerry Classic (aka the Q20) back to life in 2025, but this time with a modern twist. Say hello to the Zinwa Q25.

At first glance, the Q25 looks almost exactly like the original. It still has that familiar 720×720 square touchscreen, physical QWERTY keyboard, and sturdy outer shell. Even the LED notification light makes a return. But on the inside? It’s all new.

Zinwa has updated the internals with a MediaTek Helio G99 processor, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage—a serious leap forward compared to the original. There’s also MicroSD support for those who like having extra space for photos, music, or work files. And yes, there’s a 3,000mAh battery, giving the phone enough juice to last you through the day.

The camera setup has been modernised too, with a 50MP main camera and an 8MP front-facing lens. It’s not trying to compete with the latest flagships in photography, but it’s more than enough for everyday shots and video calls.

The Q25 runs on Android 13, and while it won’t be upgraded to Android 14, Zinwa says users can expect regular updates for bug fixes and smaller improvements. It’s all about keeping things stable and smooth for users who value consistency over constant change.

There are some other handy features packed in too, like USB-C charging, a headphone jack, NFC, and support for global 4G LTE networks. You’ll also find a single SIM slot and, perhaps best of all for BlackBerry fans, the return of the trackpad, which can function as a cursor or a directional pad depending on the mode you choose.

Zinwa is offering two options: a fully assembled Q25 for $400, or a $300 DIY kit for those who still have their old BlackBerry Classic and want to give it a new lease on life.

The Q25 is expected to ship in early August 2025, and Zinwa isn’t stopping here, they’ve also confirmed that refreshed versions of the BlackBerry KEYone and Passport are in the works, possibly named the K25 and P26.

For anyone who misses the satisfying click of a real keyboard, this could be the perfect comeback.
